Creative activities
Recently, we’ve had some arts and crafts fun with our Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home residents, including card making and arranging fresh flowers for our Home.
Card game
We’ve also enjoyed playing cards, with a few different winners; we’ve been playing a game called HOY which is like bingo but with playing cards, with tea and cake on offer afterwards!
Autumn fact file
Our residents do enjoy having discussions and debates, and recently we talked about what everyone likes about autumn, if any of our residents ever went apple or strawberry picking and chatted about our favourite fruit pies. We showed everyone a picture of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting ‘The Harvest’ and also an autumn scene which our residents agreed was beautiful.
We talked about walking in autumn leaves on the ground and how it felt and enjoyed a poem called ‘Shades of Autumn’ by Johnson and McGregor.
Bingo
Everyone enjoyed a brilliant game of bingo last week and a good laugh too, as Recreation and Well-Being team member Sallie made lots of jokes while playing!
