Country and western and painting
On Thursday 12 August, we put on our cowgirl hats and sang along to country music while painting our salt dough pots that we made a few weeks ago. We chatted and sang along to the country music while we worked, and the atmosphere was magic!
Boccia
Friday 13 August wasn’t unlucky for us; we had a lovely game of Boccia in the morning with five pairs of coloured balls. The winners, after six games and decider game, were Doris and Jean – dubbed “The Lemon Drizzle Team”!
Every one was thrilled when our Recreation and Well-Being Champion, Lynda, read out the history of the game; Boccia is not just any game, it’s been a Paralympic sport since 1984.
A precision ball game where you aim to get your coloured balls closest to the white ‘jack’, Boccia is played while seated. We are really looking forward to watching a 16-strong team compete in the Tokyo Paralympics at the end of August.
Flutterbyes
We had lovely morning cutting and folding paper and pipe cleaners on Saturday 14 August to make butterflies, and our ladies are thrilled with results.
I’m sure you’ll agree they’re beautiful!
