Stone painting and bingo at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home

We have had a great week here at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home, with residents enjoying a variety of their favourite pastimes.

Painting stones

Feeling creative earlier this week, we had a great time painting stones – creative, messy fun!

Coffee morning and weekly sparkle

We had a brilliant coffee morning with lots of articles and quizzes. We quizzed our residents on place names, a flowery word search, and a musical quiz – including Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual” 1965 hit. We always enjoy a natter on diverse topics and this week was no different!

We talked about Gina Lollobrigida, Manx Coat of Arms, Althea Gibson – who was the first black woman to win at Wimbledon, Ringo Starr – who was a member of the Beatles, and the invasion of Sicily during the second world war.

Our ladies and gents chatted about when they were children, remembering tall tails they used to tell, and favourite toys they had when they were young. We all agreed the film “The Sound of Music” is an all time classic.

Bingo and movie

After several games of Bingo, with the help of a wonderful volunteer, our residents decided to watch the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, starring Johnny Depp.

House!

Flower arranging

On Thursday 7 July, Irene did an amazing job of arranging all the flowers that go in our reception area.

Well done Irene!
