Coffee and quizzes at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home

A great coffee morning this week at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home, with lots of debates sparked by the Weekly Sparkle.

We started with putting some music on from Luciano Pavarotti which everyone enjoyed listening to. We spoke about his life and how he became a singer.

We then talked about some famous people, from Desmond Tutu the Archbishop of Cape Town to the well-known actor Peter Sellers who was so popular with his silly acts in The Goon Show.

Our residents reminisced about what it was like during the 50s when they were at school and that really got everyone chatting! We also talked about pets that we’d had and some of our residents remembered their names.

Everyone enjoyed a few quizzes and a game ‘Yes Prime Minister‘ when we asked questions about which Prime Minister was who. We did some anagrams which our ladies and gents were very good at and a song quiz when we had to fill in the missing words. A really fun session!

And today we’ve enjoyed four games of bingo, with a packed audience! There were lots of winners!

Plus we’ve practiced a few exercises and dances with music, which everybody enjoyed. It’s always lots of fun doing it together.
