They gorgeous weather has drawn us outside this week at at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home. Our residents have enjoyed some time in the garden and our very own classic car show!
Flower arranging and quizzes
Marjorie arranged the flowers this week and she did an amazing job. We then went on to have a lovely discussion about lions, followed by a quiz. A few of our residents also enjoyed doing a word search or a playing a word game called ‘Unscramble’.
Garden Competition
Our residents have all been hard at work to make the garden look good for the Nellsar Jubilee Garden Competition. Between them, they have built a bird table, painted stones, planted plants in pots, and some have been filling up the bird feeders. Our ladies and gentlemen have had great fun and have really enjoyed themselves.
Biscuits
Our residents decorated some biscuits with coloured icing, marshmallows and sweets – they all looked delicious! They went down a treat with a nice cup of tea.
Classic car show
On Sunday 14 August we had our own mini classic car show in our car park. The residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves! Our ladies were just as enthralled as our gents – looking and chatting about the vehicles.
Basketball and music
We played a good game of basketball today (Monday 15 August) and everyone’s had fun! We then put some 60s music on and had a sing along!
Flowers and movies
Some of our ladies spent time colouring of a flower and they really enjoyed the mindful exercise. Our ladies and gents then watched the classic movie – The Sound of Music – when it was finished they wanted to put it on again straight way!
