Sparkle debates and quizzes at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home

Our coffee morning this week, with the Weekly Sparkle magazine, was as well attended as ever here at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home.

We talked about George Orwell and his book 1984 and how the future would look if his predictions had come true or not – lots of different debates on that!

Then we talked about Margaret Thatcher and if we liked her or not!

Discussions also turned to strawberries and cream – fitting after our Jubilee celebrations! – and about picking our own fruit from a farm.

We completed the Sparkle quizzes, which are always popular with our ladies and gents – these included: ‘Guess what goes in a bottle or a can‘, a general knowledge quiz and ‘Fill in the missing words to Mamma Mia songs‘. Good fun!

We’ve also enjoyed some great games of bingo this week, three in total. Plus some more quizzes and general knowledge questions, when we introduced a young volunteer who enjoyed being involved and spending time with our residents.
