Tea and cake at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home

Time for tea

We had a Mad Hatter themed tea party here at Silverpoint Court Residential Care Home on Friday 30 June. Our residents enjoyed watching Alice in Wonderland while eating scones with cream and jam, and drinking cups of tea.

Our residents chose from a variety of different teas including English breakfast, lemon, jasmin, raspberry, assam, and peach and orange. We also had a giggle singing “We are late, we are late, for a very important date!” from the Alice in Wonderland film.

Doughnut-worry, be happy!

As part of our tea party, we also held a doughnut eating competition to see who could eat one without licking their lips. It brought about so much fun and laughter and most of our residents had a go, but there were three clear winners.

Some of our staff also had a go and they were just fabulous at it. Our residents cheered them on and the whole Home just erupted into a party atmosphere.

Go bananas

On Sunday 2 July, as a tasty way to stay hydrated, we enjoyed a nice refreshing bowl of fruit. Our ladies and gents chose from watermelon, peaches, gooseberries, kiwi, nectarines and bananas. The watermelon was by far the most popular, followed up by the peaches.
